Who is Mieke?

Mieke Blom has been a nurse and worked for many years in palliative care. She is 45, childless and separated.

In the past, Mieke has been treated severely, sometimes with cruelty. She likes to be still and watches the world closely. She is learning to draw.

Around ten years ago, aged thirty-five, Mieke fell down a flight of stairs and broke her back. Three of her vertebrae are now in a cage. She worked for months on learning to walk again.

She suffers pain and sleeplessness.

Because she is a patient listener, and kind, people like to tell Mieke things.
